Detriti Gallery are delighted to present Floralia, a presentation of new paintings by the Gothenburg based artist, Johan Engqvist. The exhibition includes ten new paintings by Engqvist, which are shown against the backdrop of a new series of site-specific murals on the walls of the gallery. Floralia takes its title from the ancient Roman festival of the same name, which was held on the 27th or 28th of April each year in celebration of the goddess Flora and the arrival of spring. Floralia is a visual harvest festival and a celebration of the joy of maximalism.
