Artists Kajsa Håkansson Bolve and Ellen Macke Alström met in a sculptural dialogue based on the idea of Cadavre Exquis, the Surrealist technique of collective drawing in which several participants contribute to a single figure without seeing the previous sections.
Over the duration of a year, the artists have worked on their pieces in succession, one began, the other continued, until new hybrid works emerged. The process has been shaped by video and in-person meetings, sketches and collaborative exercises.
The exhibition explored questions of identity, artistic authorship, and how the role of the creator influences both the work and the process itself. By inviting additional co-artists into the project, the range of material expanded, and the final sculptures reflected the layers, continuations, and contributions of each participant.
Further artists join the cadavre exquisite: Karin Lindgren, Johan Melander, Billy Höök, Sanna Lindholm, Petter Lindhagen, Torgny Alström.
