Moa Gustafsson Söndergaard | Liquid Strokes
30 November – 21 December 2023

Moa Gustafsson Söndergaard is a Swedish sculptor based in Malmö. She has an MFA from Umeå Art academy (2019) and a BFA in photography from Akademin Valand (2017)

Her work focuses on observing, sensing and touching upon movement and the idea of an ever changing rhythm. The parallel processes of a coastline eroding and a path being created. The transformative force of nature and the relationship of us being transformed with it. In the exhibition Flytande Beröring (Liquid strokes) she is exhibiting work that investigates these movements, patterns and flow. Söndergaards practice is strongly influenced by her relationship to nature and revolves around fieldwork, being outside and experiencing these shifts first hand. Mapping movement by moving.

Because what does it mean to be a human today physically moving through the world? What relationship do we have with the outside world when we spend an increasing amount of time in the virtual sphere?
